Setting the agenda
Individuals should complete the Self-Assessment Summary before the first meeting of the study group. The Self-Assessment Summary can be completed by beginning teachers and their mentors. In this way, the beginning teacher study group will be supported by and support mentoring and help induction be a comprehensive effort.
Beginning teachers should share their Summaries with the study group, and the group can identify the common areas for growth upon which the beginning teachers can focus their learning. The Summaries also allow the group to identify the funds of knowledge that individuals bring with them and that can be tapped for the group’s learning.
