Tool: Identifying the signs of disillusionment

Purpose of this tool: At some point, a beginning teacher will probably go through at least a limited phase of disillusionment. This checklist can help you recognize this phase and identify some ways to help her or him deal with it.

Regularly appearing negative and frustrated



Having a high rate of student failure



Consistent lacking clarity about goals and student performance
