Strategy 3: Reporting to parents and administrators

You have translated standards into instruction and assessment. To guide your teaching and students' learning, and to support your own professional growth, you have used a variety of pre-assessments, on-going assessments and post-assessments. You have engaged your students in evaluating their own work. As a consequence, you will have a good deal of information about your students' performance, learning and progress.

Two important audiences remain, for some of that information. They are parents, who have a deep stake in their children's success in school, and the school itself, which these days has a deep stake in the demonstrated learning of all students. These tools will help you think through how to include these two audiences in your assessment plans:
