Tool: Analyzing credibility of performance tasks

The key issue here is this: Should you, or your students, or their parents, or school administrators, or interested members of the public, rely on the assessment as an estimate of what students know and can do?

Performance task:
Which curriculum standards and/or objectives are measured by this task?

Have you attempted to isolate the key elements of the performance? What are they?   

What main variations do you anticipate finding in students' work on this task?

How would you define or describe “quality” in the product or performance?

What method will you use to rate or score the performance soundly and consistently?
