Strategy 2: On-going assessment

As they teach lessons, teachers gather additional information by asking questions, observing classroom interactions and reviewing students' work. They use this information to stay in touch with students' progress and thinking, and to make day-to-day decisions about sequence, pacing, connection and development across units or courses of study.
